If the MOT slot you require is unavailable just give us a call – we may still be able to fit you in.
The MOT scheme is primarily a road safety measure designed to ensure as far as possible that all cars, motorcycles and light goods vehicles more than three years old:
Are properly maintained, examined at least once a year at an authorised MOT test station to make sure that they comply with certain important requirements of the law.
If you have a car that is more than three years old it will need an MOT test each year to ensure that it meets at least the minimum road safety and environmental standards. The test relates only to the condition of the testable items at the time of the test. It should not be regarded as evidence of the condition of the items tested at any other time nor should it be taken as evidence of the general mechanical condition of the vehicle.

Servicing is preventative maintenance, it allows us to identify potential problems and forewarn you of any likely maintenance expense. Often breakdowns or major problems arise because early warning signs were not detected resulting in more costly bills.
At Bathurst Motors Ltd we have a range of service levels designed to meet the needs of all cars and their varying uses. Our team of professionals will help you decide on which service is right for you. Our qualified mechanics use quality parts and ensure the service is delivered to the highest standards at competitive rates. Most modern cars only need a service once a year, but older cars require a service once every six months. The manufacturers’ service hand book will explain what service intervals are best for your car and we are able to offer their recommended service schedules. The type of service you need will also be affected by how you use your car. For example, lots of short journeys where the engine does not have a chance to warm up properly will probably mean more frequent oil and filter changes.
Within the service we check and test an extensive list of items that are liable to wear over time for example, brake components – these may involve visual checks or testing. Certain recommended service items are replaced for example, engine oil, filters and spark plugs. Additional service items are replaced at different service intervals according to the age and mileage of the vehicle for example, cam belt, anti-freeze and brake fluid changes.
